PRIDE Gets a Great Review from The Homeschool Resource Room

If you’ve been considering trying out PRIDE Reading Program’s homeschool curriculum, then this review from The Homeschool Resource Room will give you just about all the information you could ever want. Ashley, the multi-talented mom behind the blog, is a former teacher, current homeschooler, and homeschool resource guide and creator. Because of this background, she brings a unique perspective to reviewing PRIDE’s curriculum. For example, she notes:

“With PRIDE, less is more…The compact program would be great for families in small homes, apartments, road schooling, or frequently on the go…I feel like PRIDE did a great job of balancing a thorough reading program with addressing the needs of the homeschool parent-teacher by streamlining the materials and lessons and delivering a unique training component for parents….[PRIDE] can be used with any child who is learning to read and can be great for kids who are having a bit of trouble or getting a later start.”

In addition, the Orton-Gillingham approach PRIDE uses also impressed Ashley because she understands that reading is “not a subject where you want to miss steps.” She writes,

There’s no guesswork here…You don’t have to spend time figuring out what comes next. And since it’s so well structured, you know you’re not missing any important steps…The PRIDE Reading Program uses an interactive, multi-sensory approach to teaching phonemes and phonics. This feature sets it apart from a lot of other programs that are more workbook-based. A multisensory approach can be a gamechanger for kids who need more than just the words on a page to learn.”
