Tutoring Reviews

“PRIDE has made such a huge impact on my family, I feel forever indebted and incredibly blessed to have experienced it. My daughter exhibited all the signs of a learning difference. PRIDE allowed her to regain confidence in her ability to perform schoolwork. She enjoyed every minute of PRIDE and always looked forward to her lessons.”

– Isla G, Manhattan Beach, CA

“Our daughter started PRIDE when she was struggling with reading during 1st grade. At that point, she was near the bottom of her class and hated to read. After working with the PRIDE Reading Program, she is now ahead of her peers and, more importantly, enjoys reading. She also looks forward to her PRIDE lessons and is proud of her accomplishments. We are lucky to have found PRIDE when we did, and I would highly recommend the program.”

– S. Taub, Cleveland, OH

“My second grade daughter has been tutored using Pride Reading Program for extra reading assistance for 3 months. I have seen significant progress in her reading skills in the areas of decoding and encoding, as indicated by both subjective and objective measures. The Orton Gillingham based method used has helped to facilitate this growth. PRIDE is amazing. I would highly recommend PRIDE for your child! I am very pleased with the support they offer.”

– Megan R, Aliso Viejo, CA

“I never thought I would be one of those kindergarten parents who send their child to tutoring at such a young age, but I felt I had no choice when our teacher mentioned our daughter was really struggling with letter recognition and sounds. We talked to Karina Richland, the author of the PRIDE Reading Program, and she suggested using the program for our daughter, 3-4 days a week. I was skeptical at first, but after only 2 weeks I noticed a difference.  She has been using the Pride Reading Program for 6 weeks and is now reading at almost a 1st-grade level. The best part – when we told her we were going to stop, she was heartbroken. I don’t like breaking my child’s heart, but when she is that EXCITED about education, you can’t help but feel good about your decision. We will definitely use Pride again in the future for any extra help she may need.”

– Kristin L, Dallas, TX

“My 2 elementary kids needed just a little more attention in reading. A teacher recommended Pride and wow! The result have been amazing.  At school they are more secure and confident. This program has been such a positive experience for our kids and I recommend it 100%.”

– Rima T, Ladera Ranch, CA

“I am very pleased with Pride and highly recommend the program to any family that needs assistance.  I feel so fortunate to have Pride as a resource. Thank you, Pride Reading Program for all you do for my child and all of the children your program helps.”

– Melanie S, Laguna Beach, CA

“My six year old learns best with systematic lessons. He needs plenty of review and baby steps forward, to help him feel confident in his learning. Because of this aspect of his personality, PRIDE Reading Program has been a great fit!”

– Lisa T.

“This program was recommended to me by my son’s pediatrician because he was struggling so much with reading. We have been using PRIDE for over a year and he has made huge strides. He loves his tutor and she is beyond easy to work with. It is expensive, but compared to the assistance he gets with his IEP at school, it is hands down the best way to help a dyslexic child get caught up.”

– Stacy O.

Homeschool Reviews

“The PRIDE Reading Program can easily be taught by parents or teachers without any preparatory training. Lessons are so detailed and thorough that whoever is teaching can simply follow the lesson plans. Of the “popular” Orton-Gillingham programs used by homeschoolers PRIDE Reading is the easiest to us.”

-Cathy Duffy, CathyDuffyReviews.com

I feel confident that I am able to help my children gain new reading and spelling ability from the comfort of our home or on the go. Thank you for helping our smart children with learning differences!!”

– Rebecca J, Gilbert, AZ

– Kathryn C.

“One of the first things that got me excited about the PRIDE Reading Program was the digital online teachers manual!  I don’t know why more structured literacy programs do not make use of technology in this way.  With the PRIDE Reading Program I can review the future lessons anywhere I have my iPad or computer.”

-Josh K, HomeschoolTablet.com

“Pride Reading has been a LIFE CHANGER for our son who has Auditory Processing Disorder and dyslexia. We switched to this program after using another Orton-Gillingham method curriculum during the first semester. The other Orton-Gillingham method was not very user friendly and since I learned to read in a totally different way, I had no clue how to teach it and couldn’t figure out how. The lessons also were not very intensive and I just didn’t feel like my son was getting enough. Pride, however, not only gives you a very an in-depth video on how to teach the curriculum they also give you a word for word guide for each lesson. When we started this curriculum my son was severely behind in his phonological skills, reading, and spelling. In just the 10-11 weeks that we have been using Pride my son is now caught up in his phonological skills! He is still behind in reading and spelling but has made MAJOR improvements and I believe he will be on peer level in reading in no time. I am extremely impressed with Pride and so glad we found it.”

– Terri L.

“We are really enjoying this program! Its such a blessing to SEE them improving and actually wanting to learn using this method. It doesn’t stress him out because it works with his strengths and weaknesses instead of against them!”

– Jenny U, OurInconvenientFamily.com

“If you are like me, you probably don’t have a degree in special education. That is perfectly okay. This program has been designed so that homeschool parents can effectively teach this to their children.”

– Christine H., ChristineAHoward.com

“The program is 100% scripted. For a busy mom, this is great because lesson prep in very minimal. This is also great for moms who may not be confident in their ability to teach reading or who may be struggling in knowing exactly what to do. All the guess work is eliminated, so you can teach with confidence.”

-Destiny M, SomeCallItDestiny.com

“There are so many options parents have these days for homeschool reading programs, but there are few that really address the needs of dyslexic learners. PRIDE Reading Program does. It’s a homeschool dyslexia curriculum that actually works and works well.”

– Brandi, MamaTeaches.com

“When you’re comparison shopping reading programs, I recommend checking out PRIDE. They quickly float to the top of your list as a solid program with a few special extras that make it stand out.”

– Ashely, TheHomeschoolResourceRoom.com

“My daughter has a diagnosis of both ADHD and dyslexia, which is a severe double whammy for learning basic spelling, reading and writing. She has used NILD and Susan Barton, both with some degree of success. However, we are a very mobile family, residing both stateside and overseas. We were at the mercy of what tutors were available and had training in what programs to move her forward. This meant switching programs and approaches and teachers (all stressful), leading to gaps and anxiety. What PRIDE has done is to give a very valuable tool -The Orton Gillingham methods – to me, her parent. The most stable person in her life to get her the help she needs. We are just finishing up our third book together and after years of struggle she is finding the attitude for “I can do this” success, she so needed. No more starting and stopping, switching teachers and methods that can be discouraging. All the materials are provided and the program has been very easy for me to follow. This is a powerful way to help parents have access to the needed learning methods for spelling, reading and writing in their homes and on their schedule. When special learning concerns limited my daughter from learning in the traditional classroom this approach gave me the tool I needed to actually help her. I wish it had been available when my daughter was younger, but I’m glad we are getting it now and for the success she feels as she finally understands the mystery that written language has been for her. Thanks PRIDE!”

– David & Melissa R, Springfield, OR

“We really enjoy the PRIDE Reading Program and thoroughness it brings to ensure the proper deliverability of the Orton Gillingham method to the child. As we worked through the book, I was seeing my son grasp more and more concepts, and I really do believe a lot of that is because of the consistency of the lessons for each module.”

– Richie S, HomeschoolAndHumor.com

“There are so many options parents have these days for homeschool reading programs, but there are few that really address the needs of dyslexic learners. PRIDE Reading Program does. It’s a homeschool dyslexia curriculum that actually works and works well. PRIDE Reading Program is the first program I have had experience with where I left the training completely confident in my ability to teach an O-G based program. For us, it…changed the course of my son’s education. For you, it can change the life of your child.”

– Brandi, MamaTeaches.com

“My son read his own birthday cards last week. I know this may seem like a small thing, but let me explain. It was his 15th birthday, and this was the very first year he has been able to do it on his own. If you are a parent of an older struggling reader, you know exactly how much this feels like a win. You know exactly how much struggle, time, and tears went into this simple act…I think PRIDE Reading Program is an excellent choice for older readers.”

-Shawna, DifferentByDesignLearning.com

“We are really enjoying this program in our homeschool. My child has dyslexia and she loves pride lessons! Lots of movement and hands on components. The customer service is Great! They have responded very quickly to all my questions. I like how in each lesson they include a phonemic awareness drill. If you follow the Pride Reading Program on Pinterest they have loads of ideas to help your struggling reader. So happy to have found this program!”

– Angie Y.

“I was extremely impressed with the results I saw with both of my sons’ reading progress. Especially my older son. I could not be more pleased with his change in attitude towards reading. It has always been a frustrating struggle to get him to read. Now he asks me to read. I still cannot believe it.”

-Amy A., CattleUpOnaHill.com

“If you need an affordable program that’s easy to use, no-prep required, multi-sensory, and based on researched methods that work for all learners, especially those with learning difficulties, this program fits the bill.”

– Lisa T, HomeschoolNotes.com

“The multi-sensory approach to reading is great for [my son]. Over my years of helping my children to learn to read, I have not found an approach that works as well. This approach covers skywriting, arm tapping (which is so instrumental in helping [him] learn), letter building, sound association, and visualization.”

– Jessica May, Texas

“After using this program with my child, at home, I can honestly say that PRIDE Reading is a tool I wish I had access to during my time as a special education teacher! I have used other Orton-Gillingham based programs and the PRIDE Reading program has everything those other programs have and more. The main difference is that it is much easier to use!”

– Mary Oliver, EntirelyAtHome.com

“I really can’t find words to describe my gratitude to the Pride Reading Program. I am a Special Needs Teacher from Egypt. The Pride Reading program gives students clear and easy steps to follow and various practices to help them remember the rules and the acquired skills.

I have to admit that I didn’t expect the high results of the program in this short period because I teach students who also learn English as a second language, so it is a double challenge. But they really enjoyed it and they are so happy with it. Now the reading session is more interesting to them.”
– Dr. Ahmed Shafai, Cairo, Egypt
