The PRIDE Reading Program has launched a series of decodable books for students in grades K-2. These decodable books are part of PRIDE’s early literacy initiative called Little Lions Literacy.  

The series, Little Lions Decodable Books, allows young learners to practice phonics skills in a carefully controlled scope and sequence.  Each book builds upon previous skills and helps beginning readers practice, apply, and master reading and phonics skills.

Fully aligned with the Science of Reading and reading research, the Little Lions Decodable Books focus on the reading and spelling of words, as well as reading fluency and reading comprehension. These books are especially helpful for children who struggle with reading or who are learning English as a second language.  

The Little Lions Decodable Books have been vetted and approved for quality by the Reading League. The Reading League is a national nonprofit organization led by educators and literacy experts. This organization promotes literacy education and reading instruction rooted in the Science of Reading.
