PRIDE Reading Program
The PRIDE Reading Program is an easy to use, structured literacy curriculum for children of all ages that is aligned with the Science of Reading. The PRIDE curriculum uses engaging, multisensory methods to teach reading, writing, spelling and comprehension.
What is the PRIDE Reading Program?
The PRIDE Reading Program is an easy to use, structured literacy, Orton-Gillingham curriculum for children of all ages that aligns with the Science of Reading. This classroom and tutoring curriculum uses engaging, multisensory methods to teach reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension.
Who Benefits From It?
Orton-Gillingham was developed specifically to teach struggling and non-readers how to read, write, spell, and comprehend. While the method works with all children, it is especially successful for children with dyslexia, auditory and visual processing disorders, speech deficits, and other learning differences. By utilizing this multisensory approach, you will be able to teach your students in the way that they need to learn.
Why Use PRIDE in Your School?
With the PRIDE Reading Program, there is no need for extensive training or advanced understanding of the spelling and reading rules that are being taught. PRIDE’s easy-to-follow, scripted, lesson planned, and step-by-step Teaching Guide will walk instructors through each skill and how to teach it, making this curriculum ideal for your school. You do not have to develop any lesson plans or do any preparation. Everything in this program is laid out for you step by step. Each lesson includes everything you need to teach the PRIDE Reading Program!
When Will We Complete the Program?
The PRIDE Reading Program consists of 6 levels (Levels 1-5), and a Pre-Reading Program. Choose a pace that works best for your students. The time spent teaching a lesson can be 20 minutes for a 5-6 year-old, 30 minutes for a 6-8-year-old, and possibly 45-60 minutes for an older child. Each level of the program typically delivers between 40 and 60 hours of instruction.

Orton-Gillingham Based Method
Our PRIDE Reading Program incorporates the Orton-Gillingham based method.
“For children with speech deficits, language deficits, or processing deficits, the repetitive nature of the Orton-Gillingham approach is perfect for them. This method utilizes a multisensory step-by-step process for your child to learn every phoneme in the English language.”
“There is a window of opportunity for kids between kindergarten and 2nd grade where if they don’t close their reading gaps before moving onto the next grade, that child will always struggle with reading and writing. It is important you close those gaps as soon as you can.”
“The Orton-Gillingham method is a process. For many students, this is actually the only program that does work for them. Our students are really, really smart kids that just need a different approach to learning.”
– Karina Richland, PRIDE Reading Program
