The PRIDE Reading Program has announced that Vernon Public Schools located in Vernon, Connecticut has implemented the PRIDE Reading Program, structured literacy curriculum for students with dyslexia and specific learning disabilities.

Vernon Public Schools is a public school district serving students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 11 to 1. The Vernon Public Schools has implemented the PRIDE Reading Program, structured literacy curriculum to address the specific needs of the school district’s struggling students.  

The PRIDE Reading Program is an evidence-based method that is structured, sequential, multisensory and cumulative. The curriculum explicitly teaches children with dyslexia, auditory processing, and specific learning disabilities how to read, spell, write and comprehend. Many school districts across the United States are using the PRIDE Reading Program structured literacy curriculum with great success.

The Vernon Public Schools provides specially designed instruction for students with exceptional learning needs. The district offers a variety of support services for Vernon students and families supporting all students in special education. The Vernon Public Schools will offer the PRIDE Reading Program for students requiring more specialized instruction and support.
