The PRIDE Reading Program has announced that the Upshur County School District located in Buckhannon, West Virginia has implemented the PRIDE Reading Program, structured literacy curriculum for students with dyslexia and specific learning disabilities.

Upshur County School District is a public school district located in Buckhannon, West Virginia. There are 10 public schools managed by the district serving 3,785 students in grades kindergarten through 12th. The Upshur County School District has implemented the PRIDE Reading Program, structured literacy curriculum to address the specific needs of the district’s struggling students.  

Upshur County School District provides quality education through a safe student-centered learning environment. The district will offer the PRIDE Reading Program for students requiring more specialized instruction and support.   

The PRIDE Reading Program is an evidence-based method that is structured, sequential, multisensory and cumulative. The curriculum explicitly teaches children with dyslexia, auditory processing, and specific learning disabilities how to read, spell, write and comprehend.
