Step 1

“Good job. Now we are going to Sky Write this sound. Let me demonstrate first.”

“Stand up and extend your arm all the way out in front of you. Ready?”

  /b/  (Say the sound.)  b  (Say the letter as you Sky Write.)  /b/   (Underline the sound and say the sound.)

Have student repeat 3 times. (If the student forgets, the strokes are Down, up, around)

Phonological Awareness

“Close your eyes. I will say a word. You will repeat the word and listen for the /b/ sound at the end of the word. If you hear /b/ at the end of the word, raise your hand. Let’s practice. Say lab. Do you hear the /b/ sound at the end of the word lab? Yes, you hear the /b/ sound at the end of the word lab so you raise your hand. Good. Let’s practice some more words.”

Repeat this activity with:

sob, dab, black, gob, grab, mom, stub, crib, dog, blab
